Abstract

In this research paper, growth of rubber industry in Kerala is studied by analyzing the growth of rubber industrial units in Kerala. For examining the growth of rubber industrial units, we have to scrutinize the number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala at the end of each year. The number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala at the end of each year is examined with the help table, figure and ANOVA. Here we make an analysis of the number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala from 2001-02 to 2015-16. The t value for the turnover found to be -6.592; P Value is 0.0000, the Null hypothesis (Ho) formulated in this regard is rejected. This shows the fact that there is significant difference in the yearly change of the number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala. Finally, an attempt has been made to predict the growth in the number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala up to the year 2021 from 2015 onwards. In the year 2016, if the trends go like this, the growth in the number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala will turn out to be 688.8 units. Likewise, in the year 2018, the number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala will be declined to 660.5 units. Finally, in the year 2021, the number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala will be further declined to 618.2 units. In short, a clear declining trend in the growth of the number of licensed rubber manufactures in Kerala is predicted.
