| Abstract | Depression is a psychiatric condition in which a person suffers from various mood alterations to phenomenal emotional imbalances which impair him/her to do even the smallest chores of the day. She/he loses interest and zeal in everything and become mundane and sad. Depression is a pressing problem that needs attention in the present scenario as not only adults but also teenagers and children around the world are affected by this disease. The worst case of depression is the ‘Major Depressive Disorder’ (MDD) which means a chronic type depression which can even make the patient of suicidal tendency. In this review all the aspects related to depression are covered like its etiology, effect on various age groups of people, methods to overcome this problem and how to help if someone is already suffering from this ailment. |
