Abstract | There is an increasing interest in identification of people’s landscape appreciation which is due to the close attachment between individuals and environment. This paper provides three models to predict people’s appreciation for humanized, desert, and river landscapes based on respondents’ combination of demographic factors and personality traits. In this regard three instruments including demographic questionnaire, Cattell’s 16PF, and visual appreciation survey were conducted among 384 teenagers in Isfahan, Iran. The results revealed that Mathematics field together with creativity variable could formulate a suitable model for predicting appreciation for humanized landscape. Furthermore, appreciation for desert landscape can be predicted through the Arts field of study. Lastly, the combination of gender, Humanities field of study, and extroversion would be the strongest contributors to the prediction of river landscape appreciation. |
