Abstract | Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing is a digital multiple-carriers based Modulation-cum-multiplexing scheme. It is very popular now days because of the fact that it supports multiple-carriers which are orthogonal in nature. Hence, problem of interference of the signals is greatly resolved. Since, OFDM has become a key area of research in the area of communication engineering. Two less explored types of OFDM systems used in radio and optical communication are Asymmetrically Clipped Optical (ACO) OFDM System and Dc Biased Optical (DBO) Communication systems. The aim of this paper is to analyze the performance of these two optical OFDM systems in terms of bandwidth, data rate & capacity. |
