Abstract

Nasal route is a part of drug delivery strategy that is emerging to be a latest growing drug delivery system for systemically active drugs such as proteins, peptides, hormones, and other drugs which are poorly absorbed orally and extensively metabolized in liver. There are so many routes for drug administrations but all are associated with some problems. To resolve these problems we can use nasal drug delivery system as an alternative route for drug administration and this review basically focuses on various aspects of nasal drug delivery with special emphasis to factors affecting nasal drug administration.
