Abstract | Fish culture plays a major role in enhancing the earnings of a country Ctenopharyngodon idella for is a very important fish used in polyculture in Asian countries especially India. Spirulina, the multicellular and filamentous blue-green algae is being used as a protein and vitamin supplement in fish diets. The present study was performed to evaluate the effect of dietary supplementation of Spirulina on survival, length and weight of Ctenopharyngodon idella for a period of 90 day which came out to be 98% survival rate,18.3 cm length and 84gm weight, respectively showing that Spirulina can be used in the feed to enhance the growth of fish. |
