| Abstract | Nutraceuticals, being used as a food or a part of food also provide us medical or health benefits which includes the prevention or cure of many diseases. In addition to that, these dietary supplements have firm advantages over the medicine as they keep away from various side effects. Nutraceuticals have been classified on the basis of their natural source, chemical group or contituents and pharmacological condition. Herbal nutrients, dietary supplements, herbal dietary fiber are some of the key terms commonly employed to define herbal nutraceuticals. Herbal nutraceuticals is used as a very potent implement in the health maintenance and also in promoting optimal health, durability and quality life. In the present review an effort has been devoted to highlight the important aspects of some common nutraceutical products. |
