Abstract

The ratio of female to male of the working age population (age 15 and older) of the country that engages in the labour market either by working or actively seeking work is expressed as working age population. In this working age population number of women participating in working sector is called the female labour force participation. In India FLFP has been very low since a long time and till date it remains significantly lower and is in extreme need to be worked upon. One of the main causes for lower FLFP in India is lack of education among the women of this country. Education is a potent tool which is required to make any population of the country equipped and skilled to work efficiently and to contribute in the development of that nation. So, education among the women is also crucial so that the woman can be made skilled to perform various jobs and to broaden their Horizon so that they could become work oriented and contribute to the growth of India. In this research paper it has been named to study the impact of education on female labour force participation in India and the study is conducted in a village of patiyali located in Uttar Pradesh. For this research both primary and secondary data was collected. To check the current situation of the women of the Patiyali village the secondary data was collected from different sources while to analyse the relationship between education and FLFP primary data was collected from school teachers, women living in villages and Parents of the school going girls etc. of the village of Patiyali U.P. Two hypotheses were made for further conduction of the research which were; Null hypothesis: There is no significant impact of education on FLFP Alternate hypothesis : There is a positive impact of education on FLFP Further the collected data was analysed and the results were obtained which were that education plays a positive impact on FLFP of any region. Therefore, education of a woman is of utmost importance so that the women of the country are qualified, efficient and are working class women who can contribute to the overall development of the nation.
