Abstract | In Kenya political transition from British colony to independent country and from single party system to multiparty politics, the circumstances were always mirrored by changes through the contribution of media. The role and function of media in any society is used to determine by both internal and external factors. Media is known as a key factor in shaping political activities, articulating ideas, influencing perception and attitudes of the people. Media act as a catalyst for change. In the case of Kenya, the media have always played a crucial part in the political process of Kenya. The aim of this paper is to verify the role of media in the process of political transformation and how does the implementation of liberalized media bring the changes in the political scenario of Kenya. |
