Abstract | The aim of this investigation was to assess the feasibility of electrically enhanced transdermal Drug delivery system of Rizatriptan benzoate, for the treatment of migraine (Headach). An in -vitro study optimized the different parameters affecting in permeation drug. The mechanism of Rizatriptan benzoate permeation by iontophoresis was investigated. The optimal conditions were found with a buffer like : 20 ml phosphate buffer at a pH of 7.4 , with Ag/AgCl electrodes and a direct current application. Rizatriptan benzoate permeation was enhanced when increasing the current density, current type and the pH of Donor Medium. Iontophoresis drug delivery system increased permeation drug quantities in parts of skin like: stratum corneum compared to passive permeation . |
