Abstract | The paper looks at the dynamics of employment, education and skills along with gender and other socio-religious characteristics in the resettlement colonies of Delhi. The paper finds that an additional year of schooling and possession of formal skills reduces the possibility of manually employed. It also finds that women in these areas had low education levels but were highly skilled. The women in these areas were not employed despite being skilled due to pre- entry level discrimination faced by them before entering the job market. The data analysis also shows that the minorities were relatively worse off when it comes to education attainment and employment. |
