Abstract | Cervical cancer is the second most prevalent cancer in women over the world. It is caused by the oncogenic Human papilloma virus. Human papillomavirus is a DNA virus that is commonly transmitted through the sex and cause cervical cancer. Therefore, an appropriate potential drug must be discovered which can target the virus effectively. Hence in order to inhibit the activity of the early gene product, i.e., E6 onco-protein of virus herbal compounds can become potential drug against cervical cancer with minimum side effects. Therefore, the current study presents in-silico interaction of different category of herbal based compounds with E6 protein. Docking of the E6 onco-protein with herbal compounds of different categories/class was conducted and then proceeded to drug scanning of each one of them. The docking result showed that the herbal compound Silymarin & Diospyrin (CID 3086637 & CID 308140) have a better binding affinity and inhibition potential against the E6 onco-protein. Their physicochemical properties also strengthen the view that Silymarin and Diospyrin can be taken for further study to prove its effect against E6 oncoprotein in animals and humans. |
