Abstract | In present time our society is passing through a great many processes. In which most of the processes associated with modernity. There are various standards to determine the modernity post modernity and conventionalism. Within this standard lies the standard which does away with prevalent superstitions in the society and practices like rituals magic sacrifices are suggestive of superstitious practices. In order to being about changes especially positive changes, the problem associated with the changes has to be understood and also cause factor has to be explored, and same is possible only through research. In the study of religion and magic, the name James Fraser is important one, who on the basis of his study established the relationship among magic, religion and science, and he has divided the practices of magic in to two parts “Black magic and White magicâ€. The white magic refers to those magic which is practiced for the welfare of individual and society at large, and the black magic is practiced for the opposite purpose, that is to say black magic is practices to harm the individual and society at large. |
