Abstract | The tribal areas in India do not have any adequate health care facilities. Besides there is a large disparity regarding the availability of health care facilities in the tribal areas Even the available of health care facilities in these areas do not reaching properly. Hence there is a need for proper planning of health care delivery system with the help of GIS in tribal areas. Considering this problem in mind the present paper is an attempt to find out the regional imbalances in health care facilities and propose proper planning for their distribution. Western Satpura region is inhabited by the tribal population; it is sparring from non-availability and mal-distribution of health care facilities. Therefore, the present study has been under taken. It can be a representative study for investigation, the regional imbalances in health care facilities and their planning in the tribal area of the country. Considering, various norms, facts and use of GIS regarding the distribution of health care facilities. It becomes clear the western Satpura region as a whole is deficit as regards to the availability of health care facilities. It is therefore, needed to reorganized the existing health care infrastructure and to provide more efficient health care facilities in the tribal area of the study region. |
